My Path

My path to becoming an Internal Family Systems (IFS) practitioner has been shaped by personal exploration, academic and experiential study, and a commitment to my own healing and ongoing growth.

I´m Irish-born and originally come from a background in third-level language education, with initial studies in psychoanalysis and anthropology. My curiosity about human experience and different ways of understanding culture and the mind led me to travel and explore the world. I settled in Colombia for nine years and then moved back to Europe, where I'm now based, in Spain.

Throughout this time, I have also engaged in my own therapeutic journey, which has spanned over a decade. I explored different modalities, each offering its own insights, but it wasn’t until I discovered Internal Family Systems (IFS) that I truly felt at home. IFS led me to feel true agency in my own process and greatly helped me develop a healthier relationship with my own inner world. It also presented as a powerful lens to understand something that was taking on growing importance for me: how we internalise systems - culture and systems live within and through us.

This led me to become an IFS practitioner, and subsequently begin studies in Focusing and Psychotherapeutic Counselling.  I am also committed to ongoing professional development, particularly in exploring the ways IFS intersects with other modalities such as climate psychology, focusing, non-violent communication, somatic therapy, eco-therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. I continuously seek new ways to deepen my understanding and develop my practice, so that I may integrate insights from multiple disciplines to best support each person's unique process.
